I don't know Chappell Roan that well, but I did love Hamlet in 12th grade, so...
I could definitely see someone biting off more than they could chew with the fame thing. You're good at performing, so you keep going...and then when you're a household name it's a lot more than you can handle, and then you don't want to let everyone down, so you crack under the stress. Not to mention mood disorders are common in the arts anyway. She wouldn't be the first popular musician to have mental problems--Hank Williams was an alcoholic.
